Rotator Cuff Tear
The Rotator cuff tear is a common shoulder injury caused by lifting heavy objects regularly or due to aging and degeneration. The Rotator cuff disease presents with wide variety of symptoms , some times it can be a silent problem with no pain or mild discomfort in the shoulder and in some group of patients it presents like a pseudoparalytic condition with extreme pain and inability to move the shoulder .
The main goal of any treatment method has to be the reduction of this pain and the restoration of the shoulder’s functionality. The doctor will devise a treatment plan according to the patient’s age, health condition, activity level and the type of tear. The doctors usually would initially try non-surgical treatment and would opt for surgical methods if the condition does not improve through non-surgical methods.
